China Implememts Preferential Tax Policies for the Import of Goods pertaining to Coronavirus Control
The tax preference is valid from Jan. 1 to Mar. 31, 2020. During the period, imported materials used for the control of coronavirus outbreak will be exempt from import tariffs, value-added tax and consumption tax. The scope of goods eligible for duty exemption has been expanded to include reagents, disinfectant articles, protective equipment, ambulances, epidemic control vehicles, disinfection vehicles and emergency command vehicles.
South Korea Amends Enforcement Rule of Cosmetics Act
The amendments include three aspects: 1. Newly add the criteria of age for infant or children cosmetics; 2. Newly add the field research of infant or children cosmetics, 3. Newly add the hazard reduction program for infant or children cosmetics. These amendments shall come into force from Jan.22, 2020.

FDA Plans to Amend the Definition and Testing Method of Asbestos in Talc and Cosmetic Products Containing Talc
According to FDA's notice in January 10, 2020, a public meeting will be held on February 4, 2020, Eastern Time to discuss the testing method, terminology, and criteria that can be applied to characterize and measure asbestos and other potentially harmful elongate mineral particles that may be present as contaminants in talc and cosmetic products manufactured using talc as an ingredient.
