In January 2021, Thailand officially legalized the use of low-THC cannabis and hemp in cosmetics and laid down two business guidelines to regulate the usage restrictions and labeling requirements of permitted hemp ingredients. Four months later, on May 17, the Ministry of Public Health issued six notices making nine additions to the permitted cannabis and hemp ingredients, which now totals 15. The notices have entered into force on May 18.
This notice specifies the labeling requirements of five hemp-derived ingredients, that is, cannabis sativa (hemp) leaf, cannabis sativa (hemp) root, cannabis sativa (hemp) seed, cannabis sativa (hemp) seedcake, and cannabis sativa (hemp) stem.
