Indonesia Implements New Cosmetic Labeling Regulation

Detailed instructions and examples are given on how to label the required information.
Disease prevention claims are prohibited.
Labeling guidelines for sunscreens, skincare products containing Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA), and teeth whitening products containing or releasing Hydrogen Peroxide are newly added.
Administrative sanctions imposed on enterprises using illegal labeling are adjusted.
On Dec. 28, 2020, Indonesia released and implemented new Technical Requirements for Cosmetics Labeling 1, which replaced the labeling requirements regulated in the Technical Requirements for Cosmetics 2015. Cosmetic notification number owners who obtained the notification number before Dec. 28, 2020 must comply with the new labeling regulation before Dec. 28, 2021.
