[Updated] UK to Revise Cosmetic Ingredient Lists: 65 Prohibited and 1 Restricted Ingredients Added
On October 3, 2024, UK notified WTO of an addendum to the draft regulation submitted in April 2024. This addendum introduces a ban on 13 additional CMR substances, and updates the original transitional policies for affected cosmetic products. It is open for comments for 60 days, and scheduled to take effect on January 31, 2025 alongside the initial draft.

[Updated] China NMPA Unveils 2024 Cosmetics Standards Plan: Prohibited/Restricted Ingredients and Testing Methods Involved
On September 27, 2024, the NMPA issued the official version of the 2024 Cosmetics Standards Plan to the Jiangsu, Shandong, and Guangdong Provincial Medical Products Administration departments, as well as the Cosmetic Standardization Technical Committee's secretariat and sub-technical committees. The official plan was revised from 55 to 54 items, with the “Toothpaste Classification Catalogs” project removed and slight adjustments made to the organization responsible for the toothpaste standard.
