Claims of cosmetic products serve mainly to inform end users about the characteristics and qualities of the products. To ensure that the information conveyed to end users through such claims is useful, understandable and reliable, the Commission laid down six common criteria for the justification of claims used in relation to cosmetic products at Union level.
