The “Guidance for Cosmetic Safety Risk Assessment” was published on 11 November 2015 for public consultation until 10 December 2015. The drafting work of this guidance is undertaken by drug and cosmetic registration administration division of CFDA and largely based upon the EU’s 11th edition “GUIDANCE FOR THE TESTING OF COSMETIC SUBSTANCES AND THEIR SAFETY EVALUATION”. It is the first official guidance in China that present systemic and instructive guidelines for cosmetic safety risk assessment and fill in long-standing gap in China’s legislative infrastructure over cosmetics.
