Industrial Chemicals Act 2019 is the overarching regulatory framework for the importation and manufacture (i.e., introduction) of industrial chemicals in Australia, including cosmetics. It establishes the Australian Industrial Chemicals Introduction Scheme (AICIS) to regulate the introduction of industrial chemicals into the Australian market. Enterprises that intend to introduce their cosmetics in Australia shall register their business with the AICIS and go through the introduction procedures according to the Act.
