October 7, 2005, the Governor of California signed Senate Bill 484, commonly referred to as the California Safe Cosmetics Act of 2005 (CSCA). Effective form January 1, 2007, this legislation requires cosmetics manufacturers to disclose to the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) all products sold in California containing ingredients identified on state or federal lists of chemicals that cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm.
