Administrative Measures on Quality and Safety Risk Grading of Cosmetic Manufacturers in Shanghai (Trial) (Draft for Comments)

On August 7, 2024, Shanghai Municipal Medical Products Administration released the draft of Administrative Measures on Quality and Safety Risk Grading of Cosmetic Manufacturers in Shanghai (Trial). According to the draft, Shanghai Municipal MPA intends to grade the quality and safety risks of cosmetic manufacturers into four levels based on their regulatory compliance and credit risk. The grading results will be used by Shanghai Municipal MPA and relevant district market supervision departments to determine and adjust the supervision and inspection frequency for cosmetic manufacturers.
