The Cosmetic Regulations (Sections 30 and 31) require manufacturers and importers of a cosmetic product to notify certain information about the product to Health Canada. They must send the information by filling out a cosmetic notification form (CNF) within 10 days after they first sell the product in Canada. Health Canada does not approve cosmetic products for sale. For some cosmetic products, Health Canada asks for specific evidence to show the product is safe to use.
