On March 15, 2024, EU introduced Commission Regulation (EU) 2024/858, amending the ingredient lists in Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 (Cosmetics Regulation) concerning the use of nanomaterials. These amendments include the addition of 12 prohibited nanomaterials and the inclusion of Hydroxyapatite (nano) as a restricted nanomaterial. The Regulation has been in force since April 4, 2024.
