Two streams under CEPA treated differently based on whether the substance is on the national chemical inventory (Domestic Substances List - DSL):
New Substances (subject to New Substances Notification Regulations)
Existing Substances – Substances screened, categorized and prioritized for assessment under the Chemicals Management Plan (CMP)
