The community may participate in the supervision of pharmaceutical preparations (including cosmetics) and processed foods, particularly in relation to compliance with standards and/or requirements concerning safety, efficacy/benefits, quality, labeling, marking, promotion, and advertising.
Community participation may take the form of:
a. Submitting information and/or reports to the head of BPOM;
b. Assisting in disseminating information to the public regarding the safety, efficacy/benefits, quality, labeling, marking, promotion, and advertising of pharmaceutical preparations and processed foods, in accordance with established supervisory guidelines.
Guidelines for community-based supervision Include:
a. Forms of community participation;
b. Requirements for submitting information and/or reports;
c. Available media or channels for submission;
d. Verification and/or evaluation by the BPOM;
e. Procedures for handling submitted information and/or reports.
