On June 24, 2025, China National Institutes for Food and Drug Control (NIFDC) released a notice, soliciting public comments on nine cosmetic standardsThis standard specifies the terms and definitions, technical requirements, and test methods for Centella asiatica (L.) Urb. used in cosmetics. This standard applies to:

• Liquid Centella asiatica extract (aqueous form), obtained by direct extraction of Centella asiatica (L.) Urb. using appropriate solvents.

• Powdered Centella asiatica extract (powder form), produced through extraction, purification, and spray drying.

Both the aqueous and powder forms of Centella asiatica extract are intended for use as cosmetic ingredients.
