On December 11, 2025, the Indonesian Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) released BPOM Decree No. 633 of 2025 Concerning the Revocation of BPOM Decree No. 479 of 2023 Concerning Amendments to Permitted Ingredients in Cosmetics. This new issuance officially revokes BPOM Decree No. 479 of 2023 Concerning Amendments to Permitted Ingredients in Cosmetics.

The decision to annul the previous decree was made because its content has been comprehensively regulated under the BPOM Regulation No. 25 of 2025 on Technical Requirements for Cosmetic Ingredients. Authorities determined that declaring Decree No. 479 of 2023 invalid was necessary to provide legal certainty and ensure administrative order following the establishment of the new technical requirements.
