On December 24, 2025, Thailand formally approved amendments to its cosmetic ingredient lists, as originally proposed on February 28, 2025. The updates include the addition of 17 prohibited ingredients and 2 restricted ingredients, revisions to 4 existing ingredient entries, and the removal of 2 permitted preservatives. These amendments aim to align Thailand's cosmetic regulations with recent updates to the ASEAN Cosmetic Directive (ACD) adopted at previous meetings of the ASEAN Cosmetic Scientific Body (ACSB).
Unless otherwise specified, the amendments entered into force on the day following their publication in the Government Gazette. Certain provisions, however, are subject to a 180-day transition period to allow for regulatory compliance.
