Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 on Cosmetic Products, originally adopted under EU law and retained in the UK with modifications following the Brexit transition, serves as the primary regulatory framework governing finished cosmetic products placed on the UK market. The UK has introduced several amendments to this regulation since Brexit, and the current consolidated version has been effective since January 21, 2026.
