On February 11, 2026, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced updates to its Cosmetics Direct electronic submission portal, along with revised user guides and supporting materials. These updates are intended to facilitate biennial facility registration renewals under the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act of 2022 (MoCRA). Key enhancements include clearer displays of registration status and renewal dates, automated renewal reminders, updated instructions, and the introduction of separate pathways for biennial or abbreviated renewals. Facilities may also continue to submit renewals using paper forms.
The updated guidance materials include the FDA User’s Guide to Cosmetics Direct, the Cosmetics Direct Facility Registration Tutorial, and the Cosmetics Direct Product Listing Tutorial, each providing detailed instructions for system use and regulatory submissions.
