On August 13, 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) notified the World Trade Organization (WTO) of a new draft Cabinet Decision UAE Control Scheme of Cosmetics and Personal Care Products. This draft establishes a comprehensive regulatory framework for the oversight of cosmetics and personal care products in the UAE. The key provisions include requirements related to ECAS certification, labeling, ingredients, testing, packaging, and market surveillance, along with enforcement mechanisms and penalties for violations.
