Taiwan to Ban Antihistamine in Cosmetics

On May 10th "Taiwan Ministry of Health and Welfare" declared that Antihistamine will be prohibited to be used in cosmetics.

The detailed measures are as follows:

  • As of the day when the official announcement releases, cosmetics containing the ingredient shall not be manufactured or imported and existing license holders are required to apply for ingredient modification or cancellation of license.
  • Since Jan 1 2017, sales, supply and display of the cosmetics will be formally prohibited. As of the same day, license will be repealed if the holders fail to complete modification or apply for cancellation.

Manufactures and importers are suggested to take precautions for the upcoming change.
