On March 29, 2024, China National Institutes for Food and Drug Control (NIFDC) released two draft guidance documents intended to improve cosmetics safety assessment procedures. These documents, namely the Guidelines for Submission of Cosmetics Safety Assessment Dossiers (Draft for Comments) (the Submission Guidelines) and the Technical Guidelines for Identification and Assessment of Cosmetic Risk Substances (Draft for Comments) (the Technical Guidelines for Risk Substances), are currently open for public feedback until April 8, 2024. Interested parties are encouraged to submit their comments to [email protected] before the deadline.

The main contents of the Technical Guidelines for Risk Substances include the formulation background, scope of application, general principles, and requirements for the identification and assessment of risk substances in different situations.
