In May 2025, Indonesia released draft amendments to the Regulation Concerning the Control of Drug and Food Online Distribution. The regulations scope also covers the online sale of cosmetics. The updates are:

• Clarifying that drugs (including cosmetics) and food products distributed online must comply with applicable safety, efficacy/benefit/nutritional, quality, and labeling requirements, in accordance with relevant laws and regulations;

• Clarifying that non-compliant enterprises may result not only in administrative sanctions but also in potential criminal penalties.
