Maine State: An Act to Stop Perfluoroalkyl and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances Pollution

On July 15, 2021, Maine enacted L.D. 1503 to regulate products containing PFAS. Starting January 1, 2030, the sale, offer for sale, or distribution of any product with intentionally added PFAS will be prohibited in the state—unless the Maine Department of Environmental Protection determines by rule that the use of PFAS in that product is currently unavoidable.
