General Principles of Physical and Chemical Testing

On January 12, 2026, the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) issued an announcement incorporating five testing methods into the Safety and Technical Standards for Cosmetics (2015). The announcement includes both the addition of new methods and revisions to existing ones. Among them, the General Principles of Physical and Chemical Testing was introduced as a revised testing method. It specifies the general requirements for physical and chemical testing methods for cosmetics.
