Asian Beauty & Cosmetics Industry Convention to Be Held on September 1st

The Asian Beauty & Cosmetics Industry Convention will be held in Shanghai on the 1st and 2nd of September 2015. Apart from the main forum which will offer insight on cosmetic market trends, this convention contains five sub-forums, namely policies and regulations, packaging design and innovation trends, raw materials and R&D technologies, cosmetics testing method ( efficiency, safety and skin touch ), and brand marketing innovation.

Over the course of the last several years, China’s cosmetic industry has undergone relatively rapid growth making it the most financially important cosmetic market in Asia. Key trends include a clear increase in consumer demand for luxury brands and a clear move towards unconventional sales channels including online purchasing. With the strengthening of cosmetic legislation, the supervisory and regulatory capacity of China’s cosmetic watchdog have greatly increased bringing with it an overall increase in quality and safety. "Cosmetic Supervision and Administration Regulations (Second Draft)" published on June 20th  significantly amends the existing cosmetic regulatory framework, and aligns with the current industry demands and scientific and technological capacities.
