On April 2, 2025, the Australia Industrial Chemicals Introduction Scheme (AICIS) released a public consultation, inviting public comment on 18 draft evaluation statements that provide safety information about the use, import, or manufacture these industrial chemicals. Stakeholders are invited to provide their feedback before May 29, 2025.
AICIS assesses the human health and environmental risks associated with manufacturing, importing, and using industrial chemicals in Australia. Evaluations refer to the risk assessment of industrial chemicals that are being introduced or used in Australia or matters related to these chemicals. AICIS publishes these risk assessments as evaluation statements. Among the 18 draft statements, nine of them are related to cosmetic use.
