Australia Requires AICIS Assessment Certificate for Retinal Used in Cosmetics

Effective June 27, 2026, retinal used in consumer products, including cosmetics, can no longer be imported or manufactured in Australia without an AICIS assessment certificate.

The regulatory change follows a targeted human health hazard assessment that identified retinal as a developmental toxin.
