China Consults on 4 Draft National Standards Regarding Determination Methods of Cosmetic Ingredients

On December 17, China opened a public consultation on 4 draft test standards for cosmetic prohibited ingredients. The limit of detection (LOD) of diethylene glycol ethyl ether is 0.50 mg/kg and the limit of quantitation (LOQ) is 1.00 mg/kg.	Feb. 6, 2020
Determination of banned bemegride and its salts in cosmetics – High performance liquid chromatography (化妆品中禁用物质贝美格及其盐类的测定高效液相色谱法)	The standard applies to the determination of prohibited ingredient bemegride and its salts in lotion, cream and water-based cosmetics. The LOD of bemegride is 2 mg/kg and the LOQ is 5 mg/kg.
Determination of banned tetracaine and its salts in cosmetics – High performance liquid chromatography (化妆品中禁用物质丁卡因及其盐类的测定高效液相色谱法)	The standard applies to the determination of prohibited ingredient tetracaine and its salts in lotion, water-based, facial cleanser and mask cosmetics. The LOD is 10 mg/kg and the LOQ is 25 mg/kg.
Simultaneous determination of colchicine and its derivative demecolcine in cosmetics – Liquid chromatography–mass/mass spectrometry (化妆品中秋水仙碱及其衍生物秋水仙胺的测定高效液相色谱质谱法)	The standard applies to the determination of prohibited ingredient colchicine and its derivative demecolcine in water-based, lotion, cream, gel, wax-based and powder cosmetics.
