China NIFDC Seeks Public Comments on Three Draft Cosmetic Testing Methods

On January 15, 2026, China's National Institutes for Food and Drug Control (NIFDC) issued a notice inviting public comments on three draft cosmetic testing methods. ¹ These draft standards propose standardized analytical procedures for the determination of trivalent and hexavalent chromium, 11 specific ingredients including certain hair dyeing ingredients, and the preservative ethyl lauroyl arginate hydrochloride (HCl) in cosmetic products.

Stakeholders are invited to submit feedback via the Cosmetics Standards Development and Revision Management System by February 24, 2026.
