On August 8, 2024, the China National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) released a notice inviting public comments on the 2024 Cosmetics Standards Project Plan. 1 This notice outlined the formulation and revision projects proposed by NMPA's Cosmetics Standardization Technical Committee.
On September 27, 2024, the NMPA issued the official version of the 2024 Cosmetics Standards Plan to the Jiangsu, Shandong, and Guangdong Provincial Medical Products Administration departments, as well as the Cosmetic Standardization Technical Committee's secretariat and sub-technical committees. 2 The official plan was revised from 55 to 54 items, with the “Toothpaste Classification Catalogs” project removed and slight adjustments made to the organization responsible for the toothpaste standard.
