Japan Publish English Translation of Revised Quality Standard of Permanent Wave Agent

Takehome:

Japan Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW) published the whole English translation of revised "Standard for Marketing Approval of Permanent Wave Agent" with attached "Quality Standard of Permanent Wave Agent".

MHLW amended the "Standard for Marketing Approval" by dividing the application for marketing approval into two types on January 2017 (see news on: CL). Now the English translation of whole "Standard" is provided for the convenience of overseas stakeholders.

You may click here for "Standard for Marketing Approval of Permanent Wave Agent". For permanent wave agent that do not meet the standards, documents regarding its efficacy, safety, and ingredient formulation, purpose, etc. shall be submitted for review.

The official translation also attached "Quality Standard of Permanent Wave Agent", which specify the conditions and restrictions of permanent wave agent usage. For example, the standard stipulates the Dual-step Cold Permanent Wave Agent should be used at room temperature, and should fulfill various requirements when applied as first or second agent.
