CFDA clarified that QS label will be abolished after the consolidation of cosmetic licensing system.
On May 25th CDFA replied to CAFFCI’s inquiry about “whether cosmetics will stop bearing QS labels”, further specifying the transitional measures regarding new packaging after consolidation of the licensing system (CL news).
The response clarified that from July 1st 2017 cosmetic manufacturers must use new packaging that complies with the Cosmetics Manufacture License, which do not include QS label. However, cosmetics made in the previous packages can still be sold until their expiration date.
The first half of 2016 witnessed an array of cosmetic policy changes. Such changes require sufficient and reasonable transitional measures from CDFA to allow industry time to adjust. Stay tuned for relevant upcoming information on CL.
