South Korea Improves Reporting System for Functional Cosmetics Exempt from Evaluation

On March 18, 2026, South Korea’s National Institute of Food and Drug Safety Evaluation (NIFDS) under MFDS announced technical upgrades to the Functional Cosmetics Reporting System to clarify review exemption requirements and tighten access to verified report serial numbers.

According to a notice released on March 18, 2026, South Korea's National Institute of Food and Drug Safety Evaluation (NIFDS), under the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) is implementing technical upgrades to the Functional Cosmetics Reporting System. These changes are designed to provide more accurate information to manufacturers and distributors regarding the submission of "Review Exemption Item Reports."
