On May 24, 2025, BPOM released the draft second amendment to the Regulation for Supervision on the Entry of Drugs and Food into the Territory of Indonesia. The proposed changes related to cosmetics are as follows:
The draft amendment clarifies that SKI Border and SKI Post Border are not required for:
a. The import of drugs (including cosmetics) and food into free trade zones, free ports, special economic zones, or bonded storage areas, provided they are not intended for distribution within Indonesian territory;
b. The import of drugs (including cosmetics) and food into the Sabang free trade and free port area, provided they are distributed solely within Sabang to meet the needs of local residents.
