On October 10th the Imported and Exported Foods and Cosmetics Risk Assessment Center of AQSIQ was established in Beijing. The opening ceremony was held in the Chinese Academy of Inspection and Quarantine.
The Imported and Exported Foods and Cosmetics Risk Assessment Center was established to conduct risk assessments of imported and exported foods and cosmetics, and provide technical support for AQSIQ’s imported and exported foods and cosmetics risk management based on risk assessment. Establishing this risk assessment center follows international convention which separates risk management and risk assessment and is a sing of AQSIQ changing its surveillance protocols for food and cosmetics.
In recent years, The Chinese Academy of Inspection and Quarantine has done intensive study in the field of foods and cosmetics risk assessment. The president of The Chinese Academy of Inspection and Quarantine vouched that all the members in the Academy will endeavor to build the Academy into a crucial intellectual think tank for imported and exported foods and cosmetics surveillance work.
