ASEAN Updates 9 Changes to Cosmetic Ingredients in the Annexes of ACD

ASEAN adopted 9 changes to cosmetic ingredients in the Annexes of the ASEAN Cosmetic Directive (ACD): · Added 4 prohibited ingredients · Amended requirements for 3 restricted ingredients · Added 1 restricted ingredient · Deleted 1 preservative

The 32nd ASEAN Cosmetic Scientific Body (ACSB) Meeting was held in September 2020, during which it adopted 9 changes to cosmetic ingredients in the Annexes of the ASEAN Cosmetic Directive (ACD).

The 9 changes relate to 4 prohibited ingredients, 4 restricted ingredients, and 1 preservative, shown in the table below:

For (a) and (b): In case of combined use with Tagetes minuta (entry 324) or Tagetes patula (entry 325), the total combined content of Tagetes in ready for use preparation shall not exceed the maximum concentration limits set out in column (d).

Delete the ingredient and   the corresponding

footnote, as the substances are   prohibited in cosmetic products under Annex II.
