China NMPA Releases Five Industry Standards for Cosmetic Ingredients

On April 7, 2026, China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) announced five new industry standards for cosmetic ingredients. The standards include two general technical guidelines for biotechnology-derived and plant origin ingredients, along with ingredient-specific quality and technical standards for centella asiatica extract, acetyl hexapeptide-8, and copper tripeptide-1. These recommended standards will be implemented on May 1, 2027.1
