The major reasons for cosmetic rejection by Chinese Customs authorities from August to September were lack of cosmetic certificates and product quality problems.
According to data on non-compliant cosmetics from China GAC, a total of 12 batches of cosmetics from 4 countries/regions were rejected from August to September 2018. Among these, soaps and essences accounted for the majority of rejections. Reasons for rejections mainly included lack of cosmetic certificate and product quality problems such as excessive bacteria counts, exceed the shelf life and the detection of prohibited ingredients.
