Takehome: The major reasons for cosmetic rejected at Chinese ports by Chinese Customs authorities from January to July were non-compliant certificates and unqualified labeling.

According to data on non-compliant cosmetics from China General Administration of Customs (GAC), a total of 44 batches of cosmetics from 11 countries/regions were rejected from January to July 2018. Among these, body creams and body washes accounted for the majority of rejections. Reasons for rejections were primarily associated with invalid certificates including: inconsistent cosmetics and corresponding certificate, incomplete certificates or relevant materials, and unqualified labeling.
