Reach24h Interpretation:

This is the third time China has reduced import tariffs since 2015. The Ministry of Finance mainly selected popular imported products which had a high tariff. Imported cosmetics in China will be now far more competitive, especially in the middle to high end market. Apart from tariffs, cosmetics are subject to added-value tax and consumption tax. Since Oct.1st 2016, China has stopped levying consumption tax on general cosmetics and reduced consumption tax from 30% to 15% on high end cosmetics.
