Chinese Authorities Warn Consumers of Risks Associated with Injectable Sodium Hyaluronate Products

China Food and Drug Administration recently discovered beauty parlors and medical beauty institutions selling or using counterfeit or illegal injectable sodium hyaluronate products. Consumers are advised to excercise caution when using injectable sodium hyaluronate products and go to beauty parlors officially certified with a license to give such treatments.

Consumers are advised to excercise caution when using injectable sodium hyaluronate products and go to beauty parlors officially certified with a license to give such treatments. 

In China, sodium hyaluronate products used for medical cosmetology are regulated as Type III medical devices. Manufacture, use or marketing of these products require a medical device registration certificate and a medical device business license. Beauty solons and medical beauty institutions are required to purchase these products from qualified companies.
