Colorado Enacts New Chemical Warning Requirements for Hair Products

On May 29, 2026, the Governor of the State of Colorado officially signed House Bill 26-1135, also known as the Hair Product Transparency and Safety Act. This legislation mandates that manufacturers of certain hair products include clear and conspicuous warning labels when their products contain intentionally added chemicals identified as carcinogens or reproductive toxicants. The warning label requirements will officially take effect on July 1, 2027.
