On January 8th 2016, Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare released Standards for Cosmetics amendments for public consultation.
The basis of this amendment is Article 42.2 in Act on Securing Quality, Efficacy and Safety of Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, Regenerative and Cellular Therapy Products, Gene Therapy Products, and Cosmetics.
The main amendment is:
- Tinosorb A2B is added into appendix table 4.1 of Standards for Cosmetics as an ultraviolet absorber. The limit of tinosorb A2B is 10g/100g.
The public consultation period will be end on February 6th. It is estimated that this amendment will be implemented in April 2016.
