On January 24th 2016, Korea announced that a ban on the use of two pigments in cosmetics for infants.

These pigments are Red#2 amaranth (CI 16185) and Red#102 new coccine (CI 16255). Korea has banned these two pigments in cosmetics for infants because there is a great potential risk that infants may consume these pigments by thumb sucking.

This ban became effective on February 24th 2016.
