Korea to Fine Manufacturers and Importers of Animal-tested Cosmetics

Recently Korea MFDS announced that it will impose a fine of 1 million Korean won on manufacturers and importers of cosmetics that are tested on animals or contain animal-tested ingredients after the implementation of the animal testing ban.

Recently Korea MFDS announced that it will impose a fine of 1 million Korean won on manufacturers and importers of cosmetics that are tested on animals or contain animal-tested ingredients after the implementation of the animal testing ban.

The notice relating to banning the use of animal tested ingredients was firstly released on Feb 4 2016 and is scheduled to be implemented one year after the release date. From Feb 2017, Korea will become the third Asian country to implement a ban on domestic and imported cosmetics, after India and Israel.
