Korean National Assembly Passes Cosmetics Act Amendments

According to Korea Cosmetic Association’s report, the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea has just passed the revised parts of the Cosmetics Act.

The revised parts include:

• Secondary packaging and labeling which have no negative effects on cosmetics quality and safety will be excluded from registration as manufacturer.
• The Validity and manufacturing number should be noted on non-sale small volume products and samples.
• Cosmetic products which have undergone animal testing will be prohibited. People who consume or sell this kind of cosmetic will be fined up to 1 million KRW.
