October 2019 Non-compliant Imported Cosmetic Data Released by China Customs

China GAC seized 9 batches of substandard cosmetics imported from 4 countries in October. Certification problems are major issues.

According to the latest non-compliant cosmetics data supplied by China General Administration of Customs (GAC) on Dec.23, a total of 9 batches of cosmetics imported from 4 countries failed customs inspection at Chinese ports in October. Among them, lip balms and hair conditioners accounted for the majority of rejections. Reasons for rejections was primarily associated with invalid cosmetic certificates, including inconsistencies between the results of cosmetic inspection and the corresponding certificates supplied and the failure to submit relevant materials.
