SFDA is seeking views on the revised draft of the Inventory of Existing Cosmetic Ingredient in China (IECIC)

In order to further reinforce the management of cosmetic raw material, China State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) has issued the revised draft of the Inventory of Existing Cosmetic Ingredient in China (IECIC) on 27 April, 2012 for second public consultation. The 2012 revised draft list contains altogether 1674 existing ingredients in the Chinese cosmetic market.

On the basis of first batch , the list has also been published in the form of opinion-soliciting draft and China SFDA is now welcoming prompt public comments on the revised proposal up to 18 may, 2012 (See Chemlinked news on 8 December 2011).

Compared with the first batch, the revised one has deleted 36 cosmetic ingredients and revised part of the maximum use limit as well as Maximum concentration permitted in cosmetics. We suggest cosmetic companies pay special attention to these differences.
