South Korea Cracks Down on Misleading Cosmetic Advertising

On August 6, 2025, South Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) announced a crackdown on misleading cosmetic advertisements, following an inspection of online sales posts. The inspection found 83 cases that violated the Cosmetics Act. As a result, the MFDS has requested that the Korea Communications Standards Commission block access to the sales websites. Additionally, 35 cosmetic product responsible sellers are facing on-site inspections and administrative action.
