South Korea Requires Enterprises to Label Fragrance Allergens on Cosmetics

South Korea requires enterprises to label 25 fragrance allergens on the packaging of cosmetics.

On Dec. 16, 2019, South Korea released an announcement amending Standards for Marking Cosmetics Usage Precautions [1]. The amended regulation will be effective on Jan. 1, 2020.

Main Amendments

1. The regulation name Standards for Marking Cosmetics Usage Precautions was changed to Standards for Marking Cosmetics Usage Precautions and Fragrance Allergens Labeling.

2. All the cosmetics shall label 25 fragrance allergens’ names on the packaging starting from Jan. 1, 2020.
